A few months ago I introduced you to our newly made over book nook space, and I told you about how I had fallen in love with my Barrister Lane book case from Sauder. I’m still smitten with my charming bookcase, but over the past month it has taken on quite a transformation! I thought it might be fun to share a peek into the crazy blogger life and show how our book nook has been temporarily transformed into a bustling holiday headquarters.
Actually, I should probably start by showing you how the bookcase first served as a handy fabric storage center for awhile, because that was the gateway to Holiday Town. I cleared out the books to make room for a large stash of fabric during an ambitious pajama pants project for my boys. I knew that I was going to need some extra motivation to help me finish what I had started, so I put the fabrics out on the shelves, and it worked like a charm! I was far more inspired to work with all of those fun fabrics displayed right in front me! Once the fabric stash started to clear out though, the ribbon found its way in…
Soon there were Christmas printables and candy cane trees, too! It may only be November, but in Crazy Blogger World we’re busy writing and photographing all of the holiday projects and tutorials that will keep DIYers happily crafting all Christmas season long. That means that while the rest of the world is currently decorating for fall and Thanksgiving, I’m dragging out my favorite Christmas and Hanukkah decorations for photo props (and I not-so-secretly love it!).
A banner, a wreath, a pinecone or two…the Christmas decorations were starting to pile up, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with them after their photo sessions. It seemed a little silly to put them back into the storage tubs when we’re just a few short weeks away from full-on holiday decorating mode anyway. So, I started filling up the Sauder bookshelf!
There’s no rhyme or reason to my arrangement since the items get moved around as I use them, and the boys have been having fun making up their own cubby display scenes, too. Even though this bookcase full of holiday decorations is hidden away up in my bedroom nook, the kids have been super excited to see an early glimpse of Christmas magic, and they’re eagerly awaiting the grand scale holiday decorating now!
Every time I look over at my Barrister Lane bookcase it makes me smile (who wouldn’t love all that glitter and bling?!). I’m very much looking forward to spending the upcoming holiday season sharing ideas and inspiration with each of you!
