Print and create your own handy notepads for just pennies with these easy-to-follow steps!
What You Need to Make Printable DIY Notepads:
The printable is designed so that three notepad sheets fit on each piece of letter-sized paper. When you print the page, select the “scale to fit media” option if available for your printer. This will ensure that the page prints properly and that none of the edges get cut off due to your printer’s margins.
Trim off any excess white borders, and then cut the page into three sheets.
Cut a sheet of chipboard or recycled cardboard to use as the backing of the notepad.
Gather your supplies for padding the notebook – pages and backing sheet (pre-cut to size), padding compound, paint (optional), and 2-3 binder clips.
Clip the pages together with binder clips, and mix together 6 parts padding compound to 1 part acrylic paint to create custom colored padding if desired.
Use a paintbrush to apply a thick coat of the padding compound to the top of the notepad. Allow to dry and then repeat the process with a second coat.
Remove the binder clips once the padding compound is dry – easy peasy!
These notepads are SO much fun, and they make an awesome (and nearly free!) gift idea for friends, family, teachers, co-workers…anyone you can think of! Pair it with a cute set of pens like these, and you’ve got a fantastic DIY gift that’s ready for giving in no time!
