I grew up in a family where tea parties were a near everyday occurrence, so it’s probably no surprise that I love iced tea as much as I do. My favorite iced tea is the good old classic Lipton tea, and I tend to drink a lot of it in the summertime. Sometimes it’s inconvenient to wait awhile to brew and chill a whole pitcher of tea, so I was stoked to learn that Lipton offers K-Cups for my Keurig machine.
These little guys come in five different varieties, and they’re available at stores nationwide (and in Canada, too!). I’m so excited about the fact that I can brew a glass of tea over ice in just a couple of minutes now – anytime I get the urge!
My niece celebrated her first birthday a couple of weekends ago, and I set up this quick vintage styled iced tea bar for the party guests to enjoy. I have a Keurig Mini, and a tall glass doesn’t fit underneath the spout (larger Keurig machines will fit larger cup sizes), so instead I use this cute little Pantone pitcher and then pour the tea into an ice-filled mason jar or glass.
A pretty ceramic cookie jar is perfect for storing the Lipton K-Cups.
Making the tea is a breeze, too. Just pour in the water, pop in the K-Cup and press “Brew.” In about two minutes you’ll have fresh brewed tea! (Don’t you just love that the pitcher totally matches the Lipton yellow!?”)
I set out fresh fruit alongside the tea, and everyone seemed to gravitate towards adding peaches and lemon to their tea. Just toss a few slices of fruit into the tea and muddle with your straw to blend the flavors. For an extra boost of peach, add 1-2 tbsp of peach flavored syrup.
To make berry tea, muddle fresh strawberries, blueberries, raspberries or blackberries into your tea (again, for additional flavoring you can add 1-2 tbsp. of flavored syrup). So refreshing!
I love that we are able to make customized iced tea blends on demand anytime now! The teas were a huge hit at the party, and I think they will be perfect for those days when unexpected guests stop by. Just drop in the K-Cup, and in minutes you’re ready for sippin’ on the porch and chatting with your friends as you watch the kiddos play outside!
I fell in love with the iced tea bar at the party so much that I brought everything back home and gave it a permanent summer home on the top of my desk!
