Lean Cuisine Honestly Good & Delicious Meals

I’m not going to lie – lunchtime is almost always my most unhealthy meal of the day. I’m so burnt out on turkey sandwiches and leftovers that lately I’ve found myself eating the kids’ leftover chicken nuggets and PBJ crusts instead of a real meal. It’s not at all healthy or tasty, and I always end up hungry and craving even more unhealthy snacks an hour later.  It’s a vicious cycle that I knew I had to break, so I headed out to Target in search of a better option.

Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Meals at TargetLean Cuisine recently came out with a new line of Honestly Good meals that contain 100% all natural and wholesome ingredients, and the idea of a quick healthy meal was totally appealing to me. There’s nothing better for a busy working mom than something nutritious and delicious that didn’t take very much time to cook! They are available in six varieties – Honey Citrus Chicken, Lemongrass Salmon, Pineapple Black Pepper Beef, Plum Ginger Grain-Crusted Fish, Pomegranate Chicken, Roasted Red Pepper Chicken – and I picked up one of each (with the exception of the Plum Ginger fish which wasn’t available).

Lean Cuisine Honestly Good IngredientsSee those ingredients? Not a single thing on there that I can’t pronounce or identify! Another great thing that I discovered – together with their farmers, Lean Cuisine is donating a portion of the vegetables grown for their Honestly Good meals to local communities. Win-win!

Lean Cuisine Honestly Good MealsMy husband came home for lunch a couple of days ago, and instead of grabbing fast food we sat down and tried two of the Honestly Good meals. I made both of our lunches in under ten minutes, and we were both pleasantly surprised that they were honestly good and tasty! We also loved that the sauce packets came separately so that we could add as little or as much as we wanted.

Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Lemongrass Salmon MealThe lemongrass coconut crusted salmon is so fresh that it actually comes raw in the package and is cooked in the microwave along with the brown rice, snap peas, orange & yellow carrots, and edamame. The vegetables were a perfect tender crisp texture which was a nice change from other packaged meals I’ve had before.

Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Pineapple Black Pepper Beef MealThe pineapple black pepper beef was our taste test winner, and I have to say that I have never eaten green and yellow beans in a packaged meal that tasted so delicious! I’d have never guessed that they were previously frozen (along with the yellow and orange carrots that were also tasty!)! The beef cuts were tender, and the brown & wild rice with pineapple and slivered almonds was also the perfect texture. The pineapple black pepper sauce was a great final component to the dish, but a little sweet, so I really appreciated the fact that it was in a separate packet so I could add it only on top of the beef.

Eating Lean Cuisine Honestly Good Honey Citrus ChickenI wasn’t sure what to expect when I first put the Lean Cuisine Honestly Good meals into my cart, but I was pleasantly surprised that they far surpassed all of my expectations. I no longer have any excuse for picking at my kids’ leftovers, and I’ve found a healthy solution for making myself a wholesome meal in a hurry!

Yummy! That beef dish sounds amazing! (I’m not a huge fan of fish – but I might have to give it a try!)
