Earth Day is coming up on April 22nd, so the boys and I made these fun Earth shaped notebooks during homeschool last week. I left the activity open ended and encouraged the boys to fill their books with information about topics ranging from ways to help our planet to communities and cultures. They loved it!
SUPPLIES:
Ellison SuperStar Machine or Sizzix Big Shot
Ellison AllStar Long Die – Book, Earth Cover & Page (#A10875)
Extended Cutting Pads
Blue & Green Cardstock
Lined Paper
Stapler
Glue stick
Scissors
Use the SuperStar machine to cut the Earth book cover die cuts from blue and green cardstock.
Each book is made up of one blue Earth cover (with continents), one green Earth cover, one blue page and several lined pages.
Cut the perforated continent shapes from the green Earth cover, and use the gluestick to adhere them to the blue Earth cover.
Place the lined pages between the Earth cover and the blue page (acting as a rear book cover), and staple them together to form a book.
Fill the book with fun facts about Earth Day or encourage students to list ways that they can help the environment.
These Earth books would also be great for social studies, geography, and science lessons as well!
