My boys love to cook, and I regularly find myself with at least one mini sous chef in the kitchen with me when it’s time for dinner prep. They’ve been begging me to help them set up their own cooking blog, and it’s in the works as part of next semester’s homeschool curriculum. In the meantime, it’s been quite awhile since I shared a Kids Cook post with you, and the boys wanted to show off their cooking skills on Mom’s blog. They decided to make Quick Chicken Pot Pie using the recipe from Campbell’s Soups for Easy Cooking, and we even put together a fun little video for you!
Pretty impressive for chefs who range in age from 4-8!
To start, we mixed up a bowl of pot pie filling (chicken and vegetables) and a bowl of biscuit topping.
The Campbell’s Creamy Herb & Garlic Soup really does make cooking easy, and it makes it quick, too! Our entire meal took less than 15 minutes to assemble (at kid pace!).
Mix the soup with the chicken and vegetables to finish the pot pie filling.
Scoop the filling into your baking dishes – we like to make individual sized pot pies, and this recipe made 6 large individual sized pies.
Top the filling with a thin layer of biscuit dough.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown.
I have to admit that I’m loving the fact that my kids love to cook. Maybe in a few years I’ll be serving as their sous chef when dinnertime rolls around!
