Sawyer, my six-year-old, is a LEGO® fanatic. Actually, I’m not even sure that the word fanatic can accurately describe how much he loves those colorful little bricks. Ask him what he wants for his birthday or Christmas, and he’ll compile a long list for you that consists of nothing else. If you suggest that he might want to broaden his horizons just a little bit, he’ll come back at you with “But I just want LEGOS®! That’s all I really like!”
This is his LEGO® building station in the corner of his bedroom.
Sawyer likes to decorate the wall behind his door with the box panel (or the printed equivalent) of each and every LEGO® set that he has.
He keeps his favorite sets up on a shelf and out of the crazy toddler’s reach. Only after it has been nicely preserved and on display for awhile will he tear it apart and use the pieces to turn it into something even bigger and better.
When I discovered that LEGO® has its own official YouTube channel with over 500 videos for kids, I was thrilled because I knew my boys were going to LOVE it! My five-year-old might not be as interested in building with LEGO® bricks as his brother is, but he is a huge fan of computers and gadgets. When you pair the LEGO® YouTube channel + my phone = Ultimate Kid Bliss!
It really couldn’t be simpler to create your own playlist! With such a large array of videos on the site it was nice to be able to narrow down the selection and put all of our favorites into one playlist. The best part is that once the playlist has been created I can access it easily from anywhere.
The LEGO® YouTube channel has been a lifesaver when we’re out running errands, and one of the kids (usually Sutton, the five-year-old) starts complaining that he’s bored. I simply load our playlist in the browser on my phone, press play, and the cranky child is immediately entertained and pacified. Sanity saver!
The videos are funny and entertaining for adults too, so be sure to take some time to sit down with your kids at the computer to help them select their favorite videos for your own personal playlist!
Thank you to LEGO and Technorati for being sponsors. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Thank you so much for the great ideas for Legos. My feet will be much happier as well as my five year old. Keep up the good work.
