I know, I know…it’s not that cold here in California, but it has dropped below freezing in the mornings during the past few weeks. My boys refuse to keep their jackets on for more than five minutes, so finding a way of keeping them warm on those chilly mornings has been weighing on my mind.
Since my boys wear school uniforms I knew that I wanted to find a uniform piece that would keep them warm all day long. Our color choice is limited to navy blue in jackets, sweaters and pullovers, and I often have trouble finding navy in their sizes in stock (luckily we have four different color choices when it comes to polo shirts!). I heard that Cookie’s Kids has a great selection of school uniforms, so I went off to check it out…
Cookie’s Kids has everything you can possible imagine for uniforms, and their prices are totally affordable! They also offer tons of designer clothing at drastically reduced prices. I pretty much fell in love with everything I looked at on their website.
If you’re lucky enough to be in the New York area Cookie’s Kids has seven stores in Brooklyn, Jamaica and the Bronx that you can shop at, but if you’re shopping online at CookiesKids.com like I was, they have a fantastic app to help you figure out your child’s correct size.
All you have to do is input some basic information, and the Alva Kids app will tell you what size you need!
|I had no idea that they also sold Northface backpacks! This one is so cool for bigger kids.|
I love it when my order shows up right away! I was really impressed with the quality of the items that we received. I honestly wasn’t expecting too much since the prices were so low, but these are heavy and well constructed pieces that should last for quite awhile. I had initially been a bit worried because the Alva Kids app told me to order a size 7 pants even though Sutton usually wears a size 6, but all that worry was totally unfounded – they fit him perfectly!
More importantly, he loves them! He told me that the pants are “super comfy,” and he’s smitten with that sweater vest. I had initially intended for him to wear it with one of his light blue button down oxfords, but he thought he looked “too fancy to play soccer at school” and chose a polo shirt instead. I still think it’s adorable!
Now that I know how well these pants fit I’d almost pay the suggested retail of $32…but luckily for me they are only $14.99 at Cookie’s Kids!
I’m not sure what’s up with that butt-sticking-out pose, but he said “this is how models stand, Mom, and I’m being a model right now.” Gotta love that goofy kid!
Overall, I was impressed with the entire shopping experience – fast shipping, perfect fit and excellent prices. We will definitely be shopping Cookie’s Kids again in the future, and I’m going to keep up with them on Facebook and Twitter for all the latest sales and information (and you should too!).
