I realize that any activity my kids might deem as even slightly educational is totally taboo during Summer vacation…so I’ve been busy coming up with some sneaky ways to keep their little brains from turning to mush over the coming weeks. Today I introduced my boys to the concept of a venn diagram, and it was a huge hit!
First we created a basic two circle diagram with one circle representing each boy.
I grabbed some old garden catalogs, scissors and glue sticks.
Sawyer & I cut out a bunch of different fruit and vegetable photos from the catalog.
Then we decided where to place them on our diagram. We were all really surprised to discover that there doesn’t seem to be anything that Sutton likes that Sawyer doesn’t also like! Towards the end they were most interested in cutting out photos of foods that neither one of them like (placed on the outside of the circles).
Our sick and teething baby even managed to stay mellow and interested in our work (practically a miracle since he’s been miserable for the past couple of days!)!
