Simon has been attending an in-home daycare/preschool for the past two years, and he has had such a great experience with a fantastic group of kids and an awesome teacher. We are really going to miss his teacher a lot when he starts his new “Big Boy Preschool” this week, so I wanted to do something special for her on his last day. Since almost everyone loves and appreciates a morning pick-me-up, I made her a personalized quote mug and a “We Will Miss You a Latte” gift tag (to go along with a coffee gift card, naturally!).
I picked up an inexpensive clear plastic tumbler, and I personalized it with Silhouette-cut vinyl to read “It takes a big heart to help shape little minds.” You could also add a name or a date to the other side of the cup, too. I had planned on filling my cup with shredded brown kraft paper to look like coffee, but I couldn’t find any in my gift wrap stash, so I went with blue instead.
I bundled up the whole thing with a piece of baker’s twine, and ended up with a sweet gift that hardly cost more than the price of the gift card! I love that my Silhouette machine can help me turn a simple item into a fabulous gift in just a few minutes!
If you’ve been looking to purchase a Silhouette machine of your own, there are some incredible back-to-school specials running from now until the 31st. The bundle deals feature my favorite specialty media items (and sketch pens, too!) – printable gold and silver foil, chipboard, printable cotton canvas, clear and white sticker paper and washi tape sheets.
