These cute spider pencils are the perfect Halloween craft for kids of all ages!
Are your kids looking for a quick and easy Halloween craft to create? These spooky (but cute!) spider pencils are just the thing!
What You’ll Need:
- Pencils
- Washi Tape
- Small Styrofoam Balls
- Black Paint
- Pipe Cleaners/Chenille Stems
- Googly Eyes
- Quick Dry Tacky Glue
Start by covering the pencils with washi tape. If you run the tape down the length of the pencil, it should take two strips of tape to cover the entire pencil.
Paint the styrofoam balls with black paint, and allow them to dry completely. Once dry, use tacky glue to attach the eyeballs.
Cut chenille stems/pipe cleaners into smaller pieces, and stick into the styrofoam ball for legs. Insert the pencil into the bottom of the spider, and you’re finished – easy peasy!
Play around with different color combinations, leg sizes and googly eye shapes to give each spider a unique personality!

Hi Heidi, This is such a cute craft for Halloween! Thanks for sharing it! I will be making these for my grandson’s 2nd-grade class. I would like to know what size styrofoam balls you used?
Thanks!

Hi Cherie, I have found that anything between 1.5″ and 2″ works best! š

What’s the size of the styrofoam ball you have used? Will a 1.75inch work?
