It’s back-to-school week around here, and our mornings are once again a frenzied flurry of activity as my family rushes around getting ready for the day. To ensure that breakfast doesn’t get lost in the shuffle, I like to blend up a family-sized batch of our favorite smoothies so that everyone is able to grab a healthy breakfast on-the-go. This blueberry muffin smoothie tastes just like my boys’ favorite baked good, and it’s loaded with healthy ingredients – perfect for back-to-school or anytime!
I picked up my blueberry muffin smoothie ingredients at the Save-A-Lot store in Coalinga, and I was really impressed with their large selection of great foods at low prices (and their staff was super friendly and helpful, too!)! I always appreciate when great quality and money saving go hand-in-hand, and my back-to-school budget was definitely grateful for Save-A-Lot’s bargains!
Healthy Blueberry Muffin Smoothie Recipe
The combination of wholesome ingredients including blueberries, oats, vanilla, honey, and dash of cinnamon make this smoothie taste just like my favorite blueberry muffin recipe!
Blueberries boast a ton of reported health benefits including increased energy, focus, and concentration as well as lowering the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. That sounds like a superfood that’s perfect for busy school days!
What You’ll Need:
- 2 cups Milk or Almond Milk
- 1 cup Vanilla Yogurt or Greek Yogurt, frozen
- 2 1/2 cups Blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 1 1/2 cup Old-Fashioned Oats
- 2 Tbsp. Honey
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
- Large Handful of Ice
Instructions:
- Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Serve immediately.
