The weather is starting to cool down where I am (happy dance!), and I know that means my grandpa’s lemon trees will soon be in abundance. I’m always looking for new ways to use the lemons from the garden in delicious new recipes!
This yummy fall hard lemonade cocktail is the perfect excuse to use up some of those lemons! It’s fruity and refreshing, and combined with apple flavored vodka, it lends a fresh fall twist to the recipe.
Fresh apple slices garnish your drink, giving this hard lemonade a crisp and sweet flavor that is perfect to drink on a fall day or to serve while you’re hanging outside with your friends and family! I love the way that all of the different colors of apples look when they’re sliced all together!
What You’ll Need to Make a Hard Lemonade Cocktail:
- 2 cups Sugar
- 2 cups Lemon Juice (made with 6 freshly squeezed lemons)
- 6 cups Tonic Water
- 1 cup Apple Flavored Vodka
- 1/2 cup Limoncello
- 2-3 sprigs of Fresh Rosemary
- Apple Slices (We used a combination of Granny Smith, Gala, and Honeycrisp)
- Ice
Begin by squeezing your lemons to make freshly squeezed lemon juice – you’ll need two cups worth!
If you prefer your lemonade pulp-less, strain the lemon juice before using.
In a large pitcher add sugar, lemon juice, and tonic water. If you want to bring the apple flavor up even more, you can substitute 2 cups of apple cider for 2 cups tonic water.
Mix with a large slotted spoon until the sugar is dissolved.
Add the apple flavored vodka and limoncello and mix well.
Stir in half of the apple slices.
Pour into serving glasses over ice and garnish with the remaining apple slices.
Add a fresh sprig of rosemary if desired.
Serve and enjoy!
