It’s hard to believe that the kids will be headed back to school soon (whether that looks like in-person school, more distance learning, homeschool, or something else this year!) and that the first day of school is almost here already! Summertime seems to get shorter and shorter each year! We still have a bit of Summer Break ahead of us, but our friends who attend year round schools are headed back in just over a week from now – crazy!
Back-to-school means that it’s time for those obligatory First Day of School photos, so we’ve got you covered with a cute set of free printable First Day of School signs for preschool through 12th grade!
This year we’ve updated our First Day of School signs for 2020 to include some of the possible schooling options that you’ll be undertaking including classic in-person schooling, distance learning, homeschool, virtual learning, remote learning, or independent study.
(Note: Independent Study is traditionally only offered for middle school and high school students, so that set of signs doesn’t include the younger grade levels)
If you’re a professional procrastinator (like me!) who always waits until the last minute to do things, no worries! You can print these back to school signs minutes before the kids head off to school and still manage to snap a few precious First Day of School pictures for posterity. One of my favorite things to do is look back at those photos each year and see how much my kids have grown!

I love the signs but they keep printing out vertical instead of horizontal so it cuts off half of the sign. Is there something I’m doing wrong? I tried flipping view on my computer but it still printed out wrong. I’m sure it’s something I am failing to do lol but if this has happened to anyone else please let me know how you fixed it! Thank you!
