20 sharpie projects perfect for the holidays

I have to confess that I absolutely {LOVE} Sharpie® markers! They’ve always been one of my most favorite art and crafting supplies because they’re so versatile and easy to use. As a kid I always loved how daring and bold I felt when I used Sharpie® markers for my projects because they’re permanent – no turning back once you’ve started! Back in those days we only had a couple of colors of markers, but today you can find Sharpie® markers in an entire spectrum of colors including neons and metallics (my favorite!). They are now available in convenient 12-packs so you can pick up all of your favorite colors at once (*hint, hint, Santa!*).

If you think that Sharpie® markers are just for drawing and writing, you’ll definitely want to check out these amazing projects from some talented bloggers and artists that would be perfect for holiday gifting and decorating. Be inspired by all that Sharpie® markers can do!

  1. I love Sharpies!!! I have always used them with my art work I just bought some new ones since alot of mine went missing… now the school is bout to start I’m hoping to get more for cheap… looks like I have some new art projects to get to…

  2. Has anyone had any luck with the mug/plate idea?? I did some at Christmas and after baking, it washed right off. Tried doing artwork and waiting 24 hrs then baking, tried baking longer, tried handwashing, tried EVERYTHING!! Would love to find a solution. Help!

    1. Have you ever looked into Sharpie paint pens? Theyre literally paint in a marker or try to find a high heat clear spray paint to go over it.

      1. Oh no, Charlene! What a disappointment! I have heard mixed reviews on success, but I can’t seem to pinpoint the reasoning why some of them work and some don’t.

  3. Totally awesome designs….so much inspiration. Gonna have to get my sharpies out….hope to see more from you..thanks so much for sharing. Hugs

  4. I like the Sharpie lampshade and frame. I know it would look in my apartment because it actually kinda looks like my home’s theme. -Cadence

  5. On the mugs, I’ve heard from a lot of people that normal sharpies DO NOT work. Use an oil based sharpie or porcelain marker 🙂

    1. True. I actually use Sharpie to mark dishes when I take something to a potluck, as well as on glass carafes and jugs at parties. Comes off with dish-soap and barely any elbow grease! As the post notes, oil-based Sharpies may work better, haven’t tried 🙂

    1. If you write with Sharpie on a mug and bake it (some say 10 min at 350 others say 20 @ 350) if is dishwasher and micrwave safe.

      1. my experience is clean object with alcohol first,Then put object in oven, turn on @ 450 degrees let the completed object heat up with oven bake for 1 hr @ 450 then let cool down in oven for 24hrs or overnight then remove.it is dishwasher safe

  6. who would have thought you could do all that with a sharpie marker? I love they come in so many colors now though I’m such a sucker for colored pens/markers lol
