The ultimate soccer team snack pack idea + a printable “Great Game!” coloring sheet that will make you the sideline hero of your favorite little soccer player!
Last year, one of the highlights of our summer was participating in an event with UC Davis Children’s Hospital in which my three sons were invited to escort the Sacramento Republic FC pro soccer players on to the field for the national anthem. They were SO excited (and a little bit nervous to be in front of the big crowd!). It wasn’t long after that my youngest son, Simon, started begging to play soccer.
Simon fell in love with the game (and the gear! He wore his shin guards day and night!), and it wasn’t long before I was officially a “soccer mom.” We spent many hours with Simon’s soccer team, and I discovered that I especially enjoy providing snack for the team. It always makes me so happy to watch the kids’ faces light up when they see the fun snack packs that have been lovingly assembled for them.
When it comes to putting together game time snacks for your team, it’s incredibly important to remember to keep your players hydrated. Include fresh produce such as carrots, grapes or apple slices, and be sure that each player has enough to drink. I included POWERADE® in our kits because the ION4® Advanced Electrolyte System helps replenish four key electrolytes lost in sweat: sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium.
POWERADE® is available in a “Team Pack” of twelve 12-ounce bottles, and right now Walmart is offering a great coupon deal that is perfect for team snacks. Look for the in-store coupon on the 12-pack 12 oz POWERADE® packages to save $1 off Walmart fresh produce when you buy two 12-pack 12 oz POWERADE®. (Hurry this deal is only available while supplies lasts!) My Walmart has the Team Pack in the sports drink aisle, front and center, so they’re easy to spot!
For more product information and team snack ideas, be sure to follow POWERADE® on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. Now that I’ve shared my favorite team snack ideas, I’d love to hear about yours! What do you like to include in your team snacks?
