April is Earth Month, and one of my family’s favorite ways to celebrate is to create fun craft projects using recycled and reimagined materials. There are SO many fun things you can make with recyclables!

Don’t toss all of that “trash!” You can find a bunch of fantastic craft materials in your used goods! Some of our favorite crafting materials to use from the recycling bin are: toilet paper rolls, packing peanuts, plastic bottles and lids, egg cartons, bread ties, rubber bands, corks, aluminum cans, milk cartons, and junk mail. Use your imagination, and almost any clean material can be creatively reused!

Using these materials, you can create all kinds of incredible craft projects! Here are a few of our favorite recycled kid’s crafts that we’ve made in the past:

Of course, crafting with kids often comes along with a bit of mess, but that’s all part of the fun! We keep Green Works wipes on hand to make quick work of spills and splatters. The naturally-derived wipes easily cut through grease, grime, and dirt without harsh chemical fumes or residue, and they leave behind nothing but a nice fresh clean scent.

I trust Green Works plant and mineral-based cleaners for my family’s cleaning needs because their products are derived from at least 97% natural ingredients and are not tested on animals. Green Works wipes are compostable and biodegradable, and the Green Works packaging is made using sustainable materials whenever possible. It’s the smart choice!

This year we added one more fun activity to our Earth Month repertoire with this sweet Earth Day coloring page. My three boys love to draw, and they can go through paper quickly! To cut back on waste, we print all of our coloring pages onto the blank back sides of recycled school papers. My boys also like to cut recycled school papers into quarters and staple them together to make their own notepads!
